Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about packcrafter.ai

What is packcrafter.ai?

packcrafter.ai is an intelligent modpack builder that uses AI to create custom Minecraft modpacks based on your description. Simply describe your ideal gameplay experience, and our AI will select compatible mods from Modrinth to build your perfect pack.

How does it work?

Enter a theme or description (like "magic adventure with dungeons"), select your Minecraft version and mod loader (Fabric or Forge), and click Generate. Our AI analyzes your request, searches Modrinth for compatible mods, and assembles a cohesive modpack with all dependencies resolved.

What format is the output?

packcrafter.ai generates a .mrpack file, which is the standard Modrinth modpack format. This can be imported directly into launchers like Prism Launcher, which will automatically download all the mods for you.

Which mod loaders are supported?

We currently support Fabric and Forge mod loaders. Select your preferred loader when generating a pack, and we'll ensure all selected mods are compatible with that loader.

Is packcrafter.ai free to use?

packcrafter.ai is currently in beta. This service requires a $5 monthly subscription to cover AI usage costs.

Where do the mods come from?

All mods are sourced exclusively from Modrinth, a trusted open-source mod hosting platform. We never redistribute mod files directly - the .mrpack contains references that your launcher uses to download mods from Modrinth.

Can I customize the generated pack?

Yes! The generated .mrpack is a standard format that can be edited. After importing into your launcher, you can add or remove mods as needed.

⚠️ Disclaimer: Some modpacks will not launch properly

Some modpacks may not launch successfully due to incomplete or incorrect dependency metadata provided by mod creators on Modrinth. This is not an issue with packcrafter.ai, but rather a limitation of the mod ecosystem.

If your pack doesn't work:

  • Generate a new pack with a different theme
  • Manually add any missing mods that appear in crash reports
  • Check your launcher logs for specific dependency errors
